Therapeutic Massage is aimed at identifying soft tissue dysfunction that is causing pain and discomfort and working on releasing tight and contracted muscles and nerve impingement. While soothing the synergistic overstretched, strained, and weak muscles.
Therapeutic Massage utilizes postural assessment, range of motion testing, muscle testing, deep tissue, myofascial and neuromuscular techniques, manual therapy, and potentially using suction cupping, hot stones, hot bamboo, or a massage gun to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Pain management massage is highly effective for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to ensure you don't get too uncomfortable. Our philosophy here at Nurturing Heart Therapeutic Massage is to work with your body and not against it. Soreness may be present 24-48 hours after the session and should be discussed with your therapist to ensure it's at a therapeutic level and not a level of injury or rejection of the work by your body.
Thirty-minute sessions are for targeted massages, such as addressing a neck, hip, or shoulder issue. Multiple issues or a full body massage must be sixty minutes or longer.

Combination of therapeutic massage integrated with either lymphatic massage and/or craniosacral therapy.
This therapy is especially suggested for clients who have previously received cancer treatments that may leave them open to developing lymphedema due to lymph node removal or damage from chemotherapy or radiation treatments if receiving regular massages without compensating for lymphatic movement.
Clients who struggle with swelling/edema from prior surgeries, venous insufficiency, and medication-induced edema may also want to consider this option.
Clients looking for a mini-facelift will want to choose the 120-minute option from this category.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle yet powerful technique effective in treating deep tension in the body that can impinge upon the function of the central nervous system creating various forms of dysfunction, pain, and mental distress. Most people find CST can be deeply relaxing. We encourage you to wear loose clothing for this treatment, as disrobing is not necessary but heavy materials can restrict the fascia movement.

Lymphatic Massage, also known as manual lymph drainage (MLD), is a gentle and rhythmic massage that aims to move congested lymph fluid through the body, relieving swelling, reducing pain, reducing recovery time from surgery, reducing scar tissue, and enhancing the functioning of the immune system.
Lymph Lift sessions are for the face, head, and neck only and are especially useful for anyone suffering from puffiness in the face, TMJ issues, chronic sinus and ear congestion, stroke and TBI recovery, neuralgia, MS, Parkinson's Disease, face/dental trauma or surgery.
Full Body lymph drainage sessions start at the neck and go down the front and back of the body. It's ideal for removing swelling and bloating, speeding up a sluggish system harboring inflammation, disease, and proteins. It gives the immune system a boost and helps increase energy and decrease fatigue.
We are Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapists. Some insurance companies will reimburse for manual lymphatic drainage provided by a CMLDT with a Doctor's prescription.
Lymphedema clients in the treatment phase should be working with a Lymphedema Therapist, usually an occupational or physical therapist working within a clinic.
Contraindications for Lymphatic Drainage include Fever, Influenza, Infection not being treated with antibiotics within the last 48 hours, active cancer treatment without the treatment team's consent, Major Organ Failure, Skin conditions of unknown origins, surgery patients less than 48 hours post-op or without MD approval, Prenatal clients in their 1st trimester, in any trimester where they're still experiencing morning sickness, and high-risk pregnancies without MD's written approval.

The therapist will use postural assessment techniques to identify restrictions in joint movement, muscle strains, and possible adhesions in the joints, then address these findings using a combination of positional releases of the articulating ligaments, myofascial work, and passive or active assisted stretching. Clients remain clothed for the session and should be in loose-fitting clothing. This modality is especially effective for athletes.
